Newsletter #23

Hi Southcity

Well, its been a few weeks since I last wrote to you, and I know this comes on the back of quite a lot of communication from us over the past few days, so I really hope that you dont just push the delete button.

Our family was able to enjoy an incredibly restful holiday over this period. I would like to thank you very much for releasing Jacs and I to do so and we are refreshed and excited about a few of the things into which God is leading us as a church.

My prayer for us as Southcity this year would be that we would be like those Jesus describes in Luke 6:47-48:
'I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.'

I pray that we would be those who come to Jesus, who hear his words, and who put them into practice. And as we do that individually and collectively, we can look forward to an incredible effectiveness as we endeavour to demonstrate the love of Jesus to a sick, lost and dying humanity.

Come with me as we journey together and form part of the great and incredible cloud of witnesses bringing glory to God our Father.

Much love
Rich

PS - as we start this year together, we desire to see a greater understanding and outworking of community. With this being one of Jesus' words to us as a community of believers, we are asking that you join us on Tuesday the 24th at 7pm in our auditorium in order that we may journey together as Southcity church. So please would you make every effort to be part of this evening for the sake of Southcity.
